Using Global Search in MEX

Need to find something urgently in MEX?

MEX Global Search allows users to search the entire database. Here you can search through Work Orders, Assets, Purchase Orders and many other modules. It also serves as an easy way to navigate through to many areas in MEX.

We like to keep it simple so if you want to, for example modify an account code, simply type it in and click the hyperlink. You will instantly be in the account code control files. This works for all the control files and all other modules.

Let’s get to searching! Using Global Search is easy:

• Start by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen
• Enter your search term and press enter. In this case spare part “BVA03”
• MEX will return all the results throughout the database. Any Parts, Assets with APL’s or Work Orders associated with this part will now display

Do note that Global Search is limited to text fields and drop-downs. It also limits searches on dates or numeric values.

Can I filter my results?

You sure can! Global Search allows you to filter your results by the type of records returned. Simply click on the small black triangle at the top of the Global Search Window and click the type of record you want to filter by. Feel free to select multiple filters here.
