What exactly makes a MEX professional? If you’re on the job hunt or you’re looking to make a scenery change, you’re probably working on your résumé and wondering what to include. This article gives you some MEX tips to use as a guide.

Always remember to list the main modules that you have the most experience with. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Setting up an Asset Register
  • Implementing equipment maintenance schedules in the Preventative Maintenance and Inspections modules
  • Creating and assigning Work Orders (WO) to personnel in the field and building a comprehensive Work Order History
  • Experience in setting up the system’s Security to ensure the right people can see and work with the right modules.
  • Employing effective Reading capture methods
  • A good idea of what Control Files work with each particular module
  • Invoicing and Purchasing through WO’s

Any additional modules that you’ve used throughout your experiences with MEX should also be mentioned. Although these features are additional they may be of interest to a new employer as part of their implementation.

These modules include:

  • The Stores Module – this module allows an organisation to keep track of all spare parts using a comprehensive catalogue system. Stores is a popular module and any experience with this feature would be ideal to mention.
  • Regions – Used to run multiple sites autonomously using a single MEX database.
  • Easy Time – An electronic time card system that provides a more efficient means of entering trade’s information and hours into MEX & FleetMEX.
  • Customisations – Any customisations that have been implemented could also be applicable to your potential employer.

Having previously attended MEX training makes you a more attractive candidate as the employers won’t have to wear the costs. If you’ve completed the introduction to MEX 2 day training course, the Advanced Training Course, Stores or Reporting courses it’s a great idea to list it on your résumé.
